I - Chocolate Freckles might just be ITCH Design's greatest fan :) Tell us why you love ITCH so much?

J - At Chocolate Freckles we love ITCH because it fits in perfectly with what we are about! Unique, colourful and very cool clothes that are about kids having fun and being comfortable. Very original designs with twists like no other brand really!

I - Tell us about your store, what is your concept, aesthetic and why did you start up in the first place?

J - The store is eclectic, full of colour and brands that are not stocked everywhere. It's good old fashioned service and we go out of the way to make sure customers are happy. Aesthetically we are all about colour. It's a small store that we like to look full without being overcrowded. It is exactly how I dreamed it would look! I started the store due to the need for a life change and the chance to do something challenging and rewarding. Also I felt there was a gap in my area for some really original brands that were not readily available. With two small children, life is super busy but we make it work.

I - Anything interesting you have stumbled across lately?

J - The most beautiful retro swap cards (remember them) from Lark that people just love and THE most gorgeous nautical inspired giftware for boys..Message in a bottle, marbles, tying ropes..All good old fashioned fun.

I - Any exciting news and or plans in the pipeline or any goss.....either way?

J - Ha ha...too early to say but watch this space!

I - Favourite ITCH piece to date?

J - Without a doubt the Pac shorts from last summer. Oh my they are cute..

Good Memories

I just found these pictures of my daughters 2nd birthday cake and it bought back good memories so I thought I would share with you LOL. The second novelty cake I have ever made in my life and my big idea was to give her her own personalised Louis Vuitton Handbag (in the edible form).

It took me about 6 hours - I had to bake two cakes and stick them together vertically (which was not easy) and then took FOREVER to decorate colouring the icings and painting gold accessories cutting out all the letters and flowers and stuff and doing all the little cuts for the stitching etc LOL I also remember my family all came to visit and all the men were out on the breezeway having a few drinks and I was just inside the door in the kitchen. When I said what I wanted to do they all laughed (especially my brother in law) and said I couldnt do it - I was in there creating and baking and cutting and painting and they would come in intermittently to use the bathroom (damn beer) at first I got smirks on faces saying "ha ha hows it going" "what the hell are you doing" "what is that supposed to be" etc etc and as it took shape the smirks turned to surprise as they saw how good it was turning out ;)

Sorry long story and probably bored you but it was fun to remember and share a fun memory with you.......

My daughter is constantly asking me to put on "her shows" and I think to myself that she should be out running around going crazy, drawing or playing in her room instead - thats what I used to do!! But then I fondly remember what almost shaped me as a child - MY SHOWS!!!! Here are a few of my favourites.

G-Force - Ahhhh Mark......I swear I wanted to marry him, I didnt care that he was a cartoon, he was the lovely of my life (life at about 10 anyway)

Well.....I fought the war, but the war won!!

I remained anti BLOG for as long as I could - like I need more to do **sigh** but my beloved customers and friends have been on my back for months to create one. "You always have something to say or to teach and you always find the most fabulous and unusual things, put it out there for everyone else to see and read". My response was always "I talk too much and I have researched for ages to find something like this, why should I share" HA HA!!
